Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna

The much awaited film of the year 2006 has finally arrived. Karan Johar's KANK, the abbreviated version of Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna has definitely set the cash registers ringing and has been declared a hit at the box office even before its official release.
With KANK, Karan Johar has been found to diversify from his usual style of film making. KANK seems more realistic, introspective and empathetic. The plot deals with the complexities involved in extra-marital realtionships but then Johar has breathed a new lease of life into it by packaging the film with all the right ingredients in right proportions. The film's message is loud and clear: if you are not satisfied with your marriage and your partner but you seem to gain happiness through an extra-marital affair, terminate your marriage for it doesn't make any sense to fool yourself and your partner and thus compound the inevitable bitterness resulting from a failed marriage.
The film's cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Abhisek Bachchan, Rani Mukherji and Prity Zinta. The Bs are simply outstanding in their own way. Big B pr
ooves his genius once again in KANK while Abhisek chips in with one of the best performances of his career. Rani and Prity do their bit in the film as per expectation. The weak link in the film however, seems to be SRK. Frankly speaking, Abhisek simply dominates SRK performancewise throughout the film.
The music by Shankar-Ehsaan and Loy is superb especially the song,'Mitwaa'. The performers look their glamorous best in the outfits designed by Manish Malhotra.
In all, KANK is a must watch for anybody who appreciates good and meaningful cinema.
